Lobelia
Lobelia are medicinal plants in the Lobeliaceae family and the Lobelieae tribe. The Lobelia genus comprises some 365 known species. Among the species listed in the Kokopelli catalog, Lobelia cardinalis has antispasmodic and vermifuge properties, Lobelia inflata has expectorant, antispasmodic and diaphoretic properties, and is used as a substitute for tobacco - as the plant is used as a dietary supplement. Lobelia syphilitica was used by the Iroquois people for its roots, which relieved certain venereal diseases and asthma.
