Rutabaga
Rutabaga cabbage - Brassica napus var. napobrassica - belongs to the Brassica genus and the Brassicaceae family. It is also known as Siam cabbage or turnip cabbage. Rutabaga and its leaves are eaten raw or cooked in a variety of ways. Unfortunately, after the Second World War, rutabaga's daily consumption quickly fell into disuse, as it was too closely associated with periods of famine and poverty. Yet it is an excellent source of vitamin C and B9 (excellent for pregnant women), fiber and antioxidants.
