10x40 mm Stainless Steel Boot Press
This clod press, designed in Belgium by Les Forges d'Ephaïstos, produces 10 clods of 40 mm each. A 6 mm recess (preformed hole) on the clods accommodates the seeds.
These sizes are suitable for all seed sizes.
These compact clods also make it easy to transplant young seedlings. All you have to do is gently enlarge the preformed hole.
This tool is both economical and ecological, allowing you to sow and transplant without using a bucket. Made of stainless steel, it is much stronger and lighter than galvanized steel. The Forges d'Ephaïstos press is part of a sustainable approach. Its solid design promises vigorous, successful plants for many seasons to come.
Professional experience proves that the use of root presses is the most satisfactory solution for successful, healthy plants: the roots growing around the cube are neither damaged nor bent by containers. The plants are not stressed during transplanting (less handling, no need to unpack). Simply plant directly in the ground or in containers).

Our supplier works in collaboration with Belgian market gardeners and the La Reid horticultural school to develop market gardening tools that allow the soil to be worked in moderation, while respecting the various organisms present in the earth. He draws inspiration from ancient tools to design practical, sturdy equipment. Their market gardening tools, made of resistant steel or stainless steel, stand out for their sturdiness. They also make a point of working with materials produced by local companies. Presse-Mottes are manufactured from A to Z in their workshop in Theux (a commune in the province of Liège, Belgium).
