Assortment - Mediterranean vegetable garden

Ref : KF0011

Discover our assortment of 10 hardy varieties, ideal for thriving in hot and dry conditions.

Enrich your vegetable garden with organic, reproducible varieties adapted to hot or dry climates. In addition to techniques such as the use of ollas to optimize water supply, mulching to keep the soil cool, or adding organic matter to the soil, the choice of varieties also plays a role in the success of a vegetable garden in these climatic contexts. These varieties possess, in their genetics, a natural resilience to the stresses of heat and drought.

Reproduce your own seeds and select, over the seasons, the plants that are most resistant to your growing conditions, to further adapt these varieties to your terroir.

Potager seeds for hot climates are sown from February to June, depending on the variety.

This spring variety, heat-resistant and slow to bolt, produces a fairly tall, pointed head with thin, blistered green leaves. They have a tender texture and mild flavor.

This vigorous variety, not very sensitive to drought, produces an abundance of round fruits, weighing 250 to 500 g, with dense, dark red-brown flesh. One of the sweetest tomato varieties.

This ancient, drought-resistant variety, originally from Algeria, has a semi-bushy habit and produces "marrow gourd" type fruit, light green in color with gray flecks. Their flesh has a mild, sweet flavor.

This vigorous variety is suited to hot, dry regions. It produces an abundance of 4-lobed, ribbed fruits that ripen from dark green to red. Their thick, juicy flesh offers a crunchy texture.

Staking is recommended due to the weight of the fruit.

This old variety, adapted to warm regions, produces oval, cream-colored fruits striped with mauve-pink, with a green, spiny calyx. The flesh is firm and of excellent quality.

This species, an annual in our climate, produces upright stems 30 to 40 cm high. They bear an abundance of small, orangey-yellow flowers with a powerful fragrance, and foliage with an aniseed-like taste reminiscent of tarragon.

Also known as shiny Tagetes.

Carefully harvested flower by flower, these seeds are very delicate to sort. So, the presence of small pieces of waste in the bag is normal and in no way hinders germination!

This ancient variety forms a ball of extremely fine, aromatic and highly fragrant leaves. Flowering starts in early to mid-autumn, when all the other varieties have already gone to seed.

This beautiful annual variety blooms abundantly throughout the season, making it ideal for forming spectacular beds. Its bright yellow flowers, from 5 to 8 cm in diameter, are long-lasting in bouquets.

On plants 50 to 60 cm high, this variety offers an abundance of single flowers with well-spaced petals of deep red surrounding a yellow heart.

This medium-sized variety produces green stems, leaves and panicles, sometimes tinged with red. Seeds are golden.
