Ollas to bury size S

Ref : OES

Size S terracotta in-ground Oyas are ideal for indoor or outdoor plants in gardens, pots, tubs, window boxes... and especially for balcony planters and potted herbs. For optimum irrigation, they are recommended for irrigation diameters of around 30 cm.

Oyas are supplied with a stopper to avoid any risk of evaporation or insects in the water.

How does watering plants with Oyas work?

Oyas watering pots are terracotta water reservoirs with lids. Sufficiently porous, once filled with water, they enable the surrounding soil to absorb the moisture needed for the development of nearby plants or vegetables. Since evaporation does not take place in the soil, the roots benefit from optimized microporous watering.

What are the advantages of in-ground Oyas?

  • Plants are less stressed thanks to self-regulated watering.
  • Better soil quality: keeps the substrate loose and moist, and encourages the development of fauna and microflora.
  • Water savings of 50-70% thanks to watering without excess.
  • Saves gardeners time by watering 3 times less frequently.
  • Limited development of fungal diseases.

How to install an Oya in a planter or tub?

  • Step 1: dig a hole slightly larger than the Oya.
  • Step 2: Make sure no rocks or large, sharp stones come into contact with the Oya.
  • Step 3: Bury the Oya, allowing its neck to protrude from the ground by 1 to 5 cm. Fill the hole with soil, tamping regularly to avoid leaving areas without soil or with too much air.
  • Step 4: Plant your vegetables or plants around the Oya in a larger or smaller area, depending on the size of the Oya you've chosen.
  • Step 5: Fill your Oya with water and close the cap.

Once the Oya is installed, refill it from time to time!

Based in the Hérault region of France, Oyas Environnement is a team of 30 committed employees who develop their ideas with respect for social, ethical and environmental values. Their natural clay pottery preserves our water resources (reduced consumption when watering). All ceramics are made in their workshops in France, 100% by hand (energy from the potter's wheel and green energy from supplier Enercoop). In 2014, the company moved to a village with a long tradition of pottery (St Jean de Fos-34). In 2021, a new workshop will open in Fraize in the Vosges (88), closer to the plants and gardens of the North. In these 2 tourist areas, far from the metropolises, Oyas® is helping to create a new positive and ecological business dynamic.
