Arizona Red Shades - Gaillarde
This dwarf perennial variety forms large clumps of dark green foliage. In its first year, from June to September, it produces red to burgundy flowers lightly tinged with gold, with hearts that turn almost black at maturity.

Sow in pots under a well-lit shelter. Keep seeds lightly covered and moist until emergence. Transplant when frost is no longer a concern, at 30 cm in all directions. You can also sow directly in warm soil. Thin to 30 cm in all directions.
Clumps should be divided in spring or autumn to strengthen the plants. Removing spent flowers encourages flowering.
