Improve the soil in your vegetable garden with this assortment of 5 varieties of spring green manure, perfect for promoting the life of your soil in a natural, organic way. These useful plants are used to maintain a permanent vegetation cover in the garden, so as not to leave bare plots, to prevent soil leaching, to obtain a good source of organic matter, to decompact soils and to improve their structure.

Mown and used as mulch or buried, they naturally enrich the soil to provide you with fertile soil conducive to lush crops and flourishing harvests.

Seeds in the Spring Green Manure assortment can be sown from March to October, depending on the variety.

Varieties for Spring green manure

This assortment comprises :

Sunflowers have the advantage of high biomass yields and make excellent honey meadows. They can also be grown in mixtures with other green manures, such as phacelia.

This annual legume has a brilliant, deep-red bloom. Cultivated as a green manure, it improves soil structure and, after crushing, returns nitrogen that can be assimilated by other plants.

This perennial, protein-rich legume makes an excellent green manure thanks to its deep roots. It also enriches the soil with atmospheric nitrogen and humus.

This variety produces an abundance of panicles containing orange-red grains. It is used to make a very fragrant, light-colored molasses-type syrup, or as a compost activator.

This highly ornamental variety produces beautiful plants that can be cut before maturity to make bouquets. The grains are easy to harvest and are used by the Japanese to make porridge. Millet is also an excellent soil restorer, with a root system up to 45 cm deep. It can produce between 4 and 8 tonnes of above-ground dry matter per hectare.
