DID YOU SAY TULSI?

Did you know that the vast majority of Tulsis basil teas contain a blend of holy basil species imported en masse from India to Western countries?

Even if they offer very interesting therapeutic virtues, provided they are grown organically, their productivity remains relatively low in terms of biomass, and virtually nil in terms of seeds, in our temperate climates.

Yet there is a very compact and particularly productive Holy Basil from Ethiopia, with small leaves revealing a bewitching fragrance of myrrh, vanilla and tutti frutti. What's more, this Tulsi tolerates light frosts and is easy to grow from seed to seed in any garden in temperate climates.

Unlike Indian Tulsis, it contains a majority of bisabolene compounds, which are responsible for its heady fragrance and exceptional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory powers.

This Tulsi was first introduced in France in the 90s by Terre de Semences - the forerunner of the Kokopelli Association - under the name "Basil Sacré". The name was changed recently, in response to discoveries made by Xochi, and although it is Ethiopian Sacred Basil, Ocimum bisabolenum, this name does not appear on the tea bags printed before the update.

BENEFITS OF TEMPERATE TULSI OR ETHIOPIAN HOLY BASIL:

Much more than just an aromatic herb, temperate tulsi or holy basil is part of the diet and therapy of the people of Ethiopia. Unlike other Tulsis, it contains a majority of bisabolene compounds, which are responsible for its heady fragrance and exceptional antioxidant and anti-inflammatory powers.

This compound offers a profusion of medicinal properties: antioxidant, cytotoxic against a very large number of cancers, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antimalarial, antihyperglycemic, antihypertensive, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective, cardioprotective, antiepileptic, antiatherosclerotic, etc. All these properties promote healthy functioning of the body.

All these properties promote overall body function, stimulate the immune system and combat the side effects of pharmaceutical remedies/poisons, notably by eliminating metallic nanoparticles (graphene, etc.) and other toxins.

PREPARING TEMPERED TULSI TEA OR ETHIOPIAN HOLY BASIL:

To prepare a cup of Tulsi basil tea:

  • Place a good pinch of plants - at least 3 g - fresh or dried;
  • add water previously brought to the boil;
  • cover;
  • wait 10 min before tasting.

Adjust the quantity of herbs and infusion time to suit your tastes and desires. The more basil you use, the more intense the aroma!

CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR TEMPERED TULSI TEA OR ETHIOPIAN HOLY BASIL:

With no contraindications, you can enjoy this delicious hot drink all day long.
