Sow in pots under cover, in stacks of 3 to 4 seeds, 4 weeks before the last frosts; or directly in place in sufficiently warmed soil. Lightly cover seeds with soil and water. Thin to 20-30 cm in all directions. Beware: belle de jour seeds may be toxic.
The easy-to-grow belle de jour adapts to all types of soil, with a preference for rich, well-drained soils. An addition of compost at sowing ensures beautiful flowering.
