Daubeton perpetual cabbage 2 organic plants

Ref : ZP0010

Discover Daubenton's cabbage, Brassica oleracea var. ramosa, an easy-to-grow perennial. Formerly used as a fodder plant for livestock, this hardy, cold-resistant perennial cabbage produces a small bush 80-120 cm high for 5-7 years, with delicious dark-green leaves that can be enjoyed in any recipe.

Perfect for the vegetable garden, with cabbage leaves on hand all year round!

When and how to plant Daubenton perpetual cabbage?

Extremely easy to grow, Daubenton cabbage is planted in spring from April to May. Prefer a semi-shaded position, in the vegetable garden or in the garden, and rich, cool soil.

When planting :

  • space plants one metre apart in all directions;
  • water abundantly;
  • mulch.

How to propagate perpetual Daubenton's cabbage?

Naturally, Daubenton cabbage multiplies by layering after several years. To harvest young leaves continuously, renew your perennial cabbage every year or every 2 years by taking cuttings.

During the summer :

  • fill a few pots with organic seedling compost;
  • cut off side shoots along the main stem, about 10 cm high;
  • remove all leaves from three-quarters of the lower part of each shoot;
  • plant them in the cups, so that at least 3 to 4 eyes are buried;
  • press the soil around the cutting;
  • water and keep moist until the plants recover.
