This annual Malvacea, also known as Kenaf, produces plants 1.5 to 2 m high. They bear magnificent, solitary flowers with silky, white-yellow petals spotted with purple at the base.
Traditionally cultivated for its fibers, it was used to make paper pulp, textiles, rope, insulation and more.
Sow in buckets, in warm conditions, in bunches of 2 to 3 seeds. Transplant the most vigorous seedling from each bucket, when the soil is sufficiently warm, 50 cm apart in all directions.
