This annual Malvacea, also known as Kenaf, produces plants 1.5 to 2 m high. They bear magnificent, solitary flowers with silky, white-yellow petals spotted with purple at the base.
Traditionally cultivated for its fibers, it was used to make paper pulp, textiles, rope, insulation and more.
Semer en godets, au chaud, en poquet de 2 à 3 graines. Repiquer le plant le plus vigoureux de chaque godet, lorsque le sol est suffisamment réchauffé, à 50 cm en tous sens.
