
Dragon Tongue - Common bean
The Dragon's Tongue bean, an ancient variety native to the Netherlands, produces an abundance of flattened, pale-yellow pods streaked with purple, around 15 cm long. They are best eaten fresh, after quick cooking.

Sow directly in place, 2 to 3 cm deep, at 8 cm intervals, in rows 40 cm apart, or in stacks of 3 to 5 seeds, 40 cm apart in all directions. After emergence, seedlings can be planted as early as April in mild climates.
They can be harvested once or twice a week, when they reach 12 to 15 cm in length, before becoming fibrous.
