Eating your weeds - From garden to plate!
What if we took a different look at weeds - plants that may be invasive, but have unsuspected virtues? Many of them are edible, growing spontaneously where the soil suits them best, and therefore often possessing nutritional qualities superior to those of vegetables. So rather than struggling to pull them out and put them on a compost heap, why not cook with them?
Each of the 28 most common (and annoying!) "weeds" is described here, along with the best ways to eat them. Two recipes are suggested for each one, making a total of over 50 recipes from all over the world, including soups, fritters, salads, vegetable, meat and fish dishes.
All of this is punctuated by practical advice on how to pick, preserve and prepare delicious "weeds".
