Fermented Comfrey Extract
Comfrey purin (also known as fermented extract) is rich in phosphorus, calcium and potassium, making it an excellent fertilizer. It promotes fruiting, flowering and root development for a harvest with more abundant, larger fruits and flowers.

Beneficial effects of comfrey manure
- Reinforces the leaf cuticle, a mechanical barrier on the leaf surface for greater resistance to insects and other pathogens.
- Rich in allantoin, the use of comfrey extract promotes cell multiplication and, consequently, seedling growth.
- When watered into the soil, it stimulates microbial flora and attracts macrofauna. Highly recommended when using RCW, which tends to "harden" the soil.
- Fermented comfrey extract helps clean up soil treated with Round-Up. - Helps prevent soil oxidation and accelerate compost degradation.
How to use comfrey purin?
- To revitalize old plants and energize young plants, mix 50% comfrey manure with 50% nettle manure.
- When fruiting time comes, you can then use comfrey purin (during growth: 2/3 nettle purin + 1/3 fermented comfrey extract. During the fruiting period: 1/3 nettle purin + 2/3 comfrey purin).
- For soil polluted with Round-Up, water the soil with plenty of water to revive the water system. Dilute 10% of comfrey manure with a watering can, and repeat 4 times at one-week intervals.
- This product is for preventive use only. Do not use on pests or diseases.
- Store in a cool, dark place.
How do I dilute comfrey purin?
To dilute plant extracts, use rainwater or spring water at room temperature. Tap water contains too much chlorine and limestone, which oxidizes the soil. It can alter the effects of soil care by counteracting the effect of bacteria.
For foliar spraying, dilute at 5%: 0.5 L in 10 liters of rainwater, 2 to 3 times a month. When spraying, you can add 3% black soap (surfactant).
For soil watering, dilute at 10%: 1L in 10 liters of rainwater, 2 to 3 times a month.
Production methods for ÉlémenTerre fermented extracts
The comfrey used to make our fermented extracts (also known as purin) is freshly hand-picked during the harvesting season, or grown by ourselves or a local organic farmer. Fermentation is controlled anaerobically (without air) to avoid any risk of oxidation. Spontaneous addition of 0.3% effective micro-organisms. The fermented extracts are packaged in AIRLESS BIBs, which ensure better preservation while protecting these natural preparations from oxidation. Made in Brittany, suitable for use in Organic Agriculture. Regulation n°834/2007
ÉlémenTerre
Élémenterre is a Brittany-based artisanal company specializing since 2017 in the manufacture of organic and mineral soil improvers, fermented extracts of wild plants and beneficial indigenous micro-organisms. Pascal Le Palud, an earthworm farmer since 2009, and Emmanuel Boutet, a landscape gardener, are the co-founders of Élémenterre. Trained by Eric Petiot in 2015, they are committed to continuous improvement, listening to their customers and continuing their training. Since the beginning of 2020, they have been working on developing a network of small artisan producers and collaborative research with scientists around water, energy agriculture, algae and seawater. ÉlémenTerre draws its inspiration from ancestral agricultural techniques to promote soil microbiology and make it self-sufficient, save water, restore energy to the soil, strengthen the soil's natural defences and protect the environment.nergy to the soil, strengthen plants' immune defenses, structure and regenerate humus, and improve the taste and nutritional quality of fruit and vegetables.
