I grow a militant garden

Ref : KK1124

For decades, pharmaceutical and agri-food cartels have been enslaving plants and people in the sole interest of their profits. The privatization of living organisms and the patenting of varieties enable them to control the use of the medicinal properties of plants. That's why sowing varieties that the lobbies would prefer to control is activism!

This box contains :

  • A selection of 610 organic, reproducible seed packets
  • 10 growing instructions for each species
  • The Seeds Under Influence comic strip, to help you understand the stakes of the agro-industry
  • 24 wood-fiber cups
  • 10 seed storage bags

What does the box of militant seeds consist of?

This kit is made up of a selection of 6 packets of organic, reproducible seeds. These varieties have been selected for the diversity they bring to the vegetable garden, as well as their complementarity.

The book Semences sous influences explains the issues surrounding seeds and lobbying at European level, as well as Kokopelli's 20-year battle against GNIS, the state and the agro-industry.

The wood-fiber cups are biodegradable, so there's no need to take the plant out of the cup. Simply place it directly into the planting hole.

Seed preservation sachets to keep these varieties alive over the years. Kept dry in a garage, they can be resown next year.

The cultivation sheets are a gold mine of generic information on the species, and a precious ally in the cultivation of varieties.

What varieties are in the Graines Militantes box?

-Grande Absinthe

This perennial species is used as a condiment and for medicinal purposes. It has a bitter taste and can reach 1.50 m in height. It has many small yellow flowers and is used in purin as an insect repellent and fungicide.

The famous absinthe liqueur, or "green fairy", was invented in Switzerland in the 19th century. Popular with Van Gogh, Rimbaud and Verlaine, it was the most widely consumed aperitif from 1830 to 1915, before being banned and supplanted by pastis.

-Cannabis Carmagnola CBD

This ancient variety is reputed to contain an abundance of CBD, from 4 to 8% (it contains no THC, or less than 0.2%), depending on analysis, terroir, ecotype... and advertising! It can be used for CBD, for its fibers, for its edible seeds or simply as a very generous source of biomass for plant compost.

*WARNING: since the December 30, 2021 order implementing article R. 5132-86 of the French public health code, private individuals are no longer allowed to grow Cannabis plants for their own consumption, even if the THC content is below the legal level. We invite you to read the legal note on possible penalties for growing CBD Cannabis in your garden.

The seeds we offer are reproduced year after year from our own basic seeds. We test the THC content of our seedlings every year, but we do not issue any certificates. We believe that Hemp CBD varieties, like vegetable species, should be free to grow without restriction.

We are currently studying an action plan to enable gardeners to grow their own CBD hemp independently. By purchasing your seeds or plants from Kokopelli, you assume full responsibility for the risks involved*.

This variety produces slender, upright stems 60 to 90 cm high bearing a single 10 cm-diameter purple flower with darker spots at the heart. The seeds are tasty and bitter-free.

The poppy has been domesticated and cultivated, and has been the subject of a very prosperous trade. There are 2 types of poppy: white-seeded poppies, which are banned from sale because they are used to produce opium. Poppies with blue seeds, on the other hand, are authorized for cultivation and have calming and analgesic medicinal virtues.

Its roots are used as a sedative, tranquilizer and aphrodisiac. It's an adaptogenic plant with numerous anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory medicinal properties.

Its domestication, or rather enslavement, has accelerated in recent years, as the pharmaceutical industry has not been spared from plundering, synthesizing and patenting its active ingredients!

Native to China and now naturalized in Europe, Annual Mugwort can grow up to 3 m tall. Its branching stems give rise to sharply divided leaves with a particularly intense fragrance. This species has a wide range of applications, both for the treatment of serious infectious diseases such as malaria, and for preventive use.
