Italian White - Sunflower
This magnificent variety reaches 1.50 m in height. It produces highly branched stems with an abundance of creamy-white flowers with chocolate centers, 8 to 10 cm in diameter.
The flower petals are an excellent addition to salads, and the seeds are a favorite with birds.

Sow in pots 2 to 3 weeks before planting. Transplant with the root ball after the last frosts. Transplanting is tricky because sunflowers have a very sensitive taproot. However, it allows earlier flowering and offers protection against slugs, which are fond of young seedlings. It is also possible to sow in place, in rows spaced apart, after the last frosts.
