Thym officinalis - Thyme
This species, particularly popular as a condiment in Provençal cuisine, is a powerful medicinal plant. The plant grows in woody bushes about 30 centimeters high, with small, flat green leaves that are highly fragrant.
in nurseries
Sow in a not too rich potting soil, 0.5 cm deep, in a nursery. Keep the substrate moist with a sprayer until planting in the garden. Transplant when the soil has warmed up sufficiently.
Thyme adapts to all types of soil, even the poorest! However, prefer a sunny spot with good drainage. This species cannot stand having its feet in water.

Thyme, widely consumed as an infusion throughout the Mediterranean region, has many medicinal properties. Although it is especially popular for its action against respiratory infections, it is nonetheless a broad-spectrum anti-infective, an anti-fungal and a powerful anti-spasmodic! What's more, it stimulates and boosts immunity.
