This perennial and medicinal species, around 70 cm high when in full bloom, offers downy, highly aromatic, green-blue foliage, followed by an abundance of large, dense spikes of pink-purple flowers.

Sow in pots 8 to 10 weeks before planting, at temperatures between 15 and 21°C. Keep seeds lightly covered and moist until emergence. Transplant into warmed soil when plants are large enough. Autumn sowing is also possible, under a frame, for spring transplanting.
