Volcanic basalt
Packaging: 2 kg (6.75 € / kg)
Volcanic basalt is a fine powder (0/2mm) of young eruptive rock. It is found everywhere under the earth's mantle. Highly nutritious, it is rich in trace elements and minerals, including cobalt, which helps synthesize vitamin C and B12, and rebalances soil PH and redox levels. This mineral amendment will increase the soil's paramagnetism (its capacity to host microbial life), enabling plants to become more resistant to disease and pests, promote plant development and better adapt to drought.
Beneficial effects
- Structures and regenerates humus.
- Nourishes soil microbiological life.
- Contains 42% silica, which strengthens plant tissues and natural resistance to disease and parasitic attack.
- Lightens heavy soils.
- Contributes to soil warming.
- Sustainable, natural soil improvement.
Use
In pots, mix 20 to 100 g of Volcanic Basalt for 1 kg of soil. For the garden, spread 20 to 50 grs of Volcanic Basalt per 1 m2 of soil and scratch to penetrate the surface layers. For the minerals in Basalt to become bio-available, you need soil with good microbial activity. This means enriching it with the bacteria and fungi found in: home-made compost, Lombricompost, Biochar, fermented plant extracts, MAB (beneficial indigenous micro-organisms) or EM. Be sure to use the correct dosage. Volcanic basalt contains 42% silica. This mineral can have a prism effect when exposed to sunlight. Light will pass through the mirror that is silica and risk scorching the soil. Store in a dry place away from sources of heat.
Composition
Finely ground volcanic rock 0/2 mm Major elements: 16% calcium 10% magnesium oxide Paramagnetic value: 9000 µ CGS
ÉlémenTerre
Élémenterre is an artisanal Breton company specializing since 2017 in the manufacture of organic and mineral soil improvers, fermented extracts of wild plants and beneficial indigenous micro-organisms. Pascal Le Palud, an earthworm farmer since 2009, and Emmanuel Boutet, a landscape gardener, are the co-founders of Élémenterre. Trained by Eric Petiot in 2015, they are committed to continuous improvement, listening to their customers and continuing their training. Since the beginning of 2020, they have been working on developing a network of small artisan producers and collaborative research with scientists around water, energy agriculture, algae and seawater. ÉlémenTerre draws its inspiration from ancestral agricultural techniques to promote soil microbiology and make it self-sufficient, save water, restore energy to the soil, reinforce the soil's natural defences and improve the quality of life.nergy to the soil, strengthen plants' immune defenses, structure and regenerate humus, and improve the taste and nutritional quality of fruit and vegetables.
