White Lupin - Sweet lupine
In addition to its sumptuous white inflorescences, this leguminous plant has many assets, including delicious edible grains. It is also a good soil improver and its flowers attract pollinators.
Lupin seeds are rich in protein and omega 3, and are traditionally eaten as an aperitif.
Preparing lupin seeds:
- soak seeds in water at least overnight;
- rinse and cook for 60 min;
- drain well and cover with water and a little salt;
- place in the refrigerator for 24 h ;
- drain and renew brine;
- repeat this operation for 5 days;
- finally, store in an airtight container covered with brine.
Carefully prepare the area to be sown so that the soil is loose and finely crumbled on the surface. Sow 2 to 3 cm deep, every 10 to 15 cm in rows 20 to 30 cm apart. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy, until the seeds emerge. To facilitate emergence, soak the seeds 48 hours before sowing.
