White Seeded - Teff
This early variety adapts to both short seasons and hot weather. Each plant produces beautiful stems bearing panicles of white seeds, which are used to make Injeras, a kind of large pancake typical of Ethiopian cuisine.
in the ground
Sow in place, broadcast or in rows 20 cm apart. Cover seeds with 1 cm of fine soil. Keep soil moist until emergence.
Harvesting takes place when the plant is completely dry, and is traditionally done with a sickle. The panicles are then threshed and the seeds winnowed.
