Bird's nest - Gourd
The fruits of this ancient variety are bottle-shaped, with a very swollen base. They were once used to carry water for pilgrims on the roads to Santiago de Compostela.
The gourds can be dried in a dry, ventilated place, and can be painted, sculpted or transformed into various objects.

Sow in pots at a temperature between 18 and 20°C, 2 to 3 weeks before planting. Transplant with the root ball into the ground, after the last frosts, at a minimum distance of 2 m in all directions. Sowing directly into the ground is possible in mild climates, in May. In both cases, prepare holes filled with compost or organic matter two weeks in advance to accommodate your seedlings or seeds.
Gourds enjoy being driven on oars.
