Building a natural cellar
Every year, gardeners are faced with the question of how to store their crops efficiently over the winter. Similarly, those who buy large quantities of fruit or vegetables want to be able to store them for as long as possible without any loss of quality. Unfortunately, modern cellars are generally too hot, too dry, and built with materials that are not conducive to keeping food fresh.
This book describes in detail, and with the help of numerous practical examples, how to build or fit out a natural cellar (i.e. naturally controlled temperature and humidity), in a new or old house, to preserve fruit and vegetables, but also wine. The book also presents all the means - some of them very simple - of preservation in the garden, such as gauges, silos and underground cellars.
