After storing seeds for a few weeks in the fridge, sow in cups 2 to 3 weeks before planting. Transplant with the root ball after the last frosts, 1 m apart in all directions. Transplanting is a delicate operation, but it allows earlier flowering and offers protection against slugs, which are fond of young seedlings. It is also possible to sow in place, in rows spaced apart, after the last frosts.
