Mix of Colours - Scabiosa
Very easy to grow, scabiosa flowers lightly and abundantly throughout the season, making them ideal for flower bouquets.
This biennial or perennial mix can reach 90 cm in height and produces an abundance of slender, upright, branched stems bearing red, pink, salmon and dark blue flowers 3 to 5 cm in diameter.
in the ground
Sow under cover, in buckets or patches. Keep seeds lightly covered and slightly moist until emergence. Transplant when the last frosts have passed. For sowing in the open ground, wait for the soil to warm up. Bury seeds lightly in loosened soil at 15-20 cm intervals. After emergence, thin out if necessary.
Scabious plants like light, well-drained, calcareous soil. They will, however, thrive in poor soil with sufficient organic matter. To avoid rotting, do not bury the collar of the plant when transplanting.
