This ipomoea grows to almost 3 m in height and offers an abundance of melliferous, trumpet-shaped flowers, 2 to 4 cm in diameter and red in color with a yellow center.

Sow in pots, under light cover, 4 weeks before the last frost and cover with 1 cm of soil. Water lightly. Transplant into the ground, after the last frosts, at a minimum distance of 40 cm in all directions. For direct sowing, sow lightly in sufficiently warmed soil and thin to a minimum distance of 40 cm in all directions. To promote germination, soak seeds in water the day before sowing.
It produces numerous seeds and spontaneously resprouts.
