Marie B. & Auriane B.
"We cultivate a 2,000 m² garden on a mountainside at an altitude of 900 m in the Roya valley, organized in terraces that allow little mechanization. For the past 10 years, I've been producing seedlings and seeds of 50 to 70 varieties, including ten for Kokopelli, including vegetables, herbs and flowers. Auriane joined me in 2022 to reinforce the team. In parallel, we also have a nursery and carry out plant processing: jams, syrups, sauces, chutney, etc."
Marie: "The year I spent at Potager d'un Curieux and meeting Jean-Luc Danneyrolles gave me a passion for seeds."
Auriane: "In 2018, I made a documentary trip on the subject of peasant seeds. I immersed myself in this theme and it pushed me to train in it."
"Our desire to produce seeds for beauty, peasant autonomy, biodiversity, and of course taste, brought us together! Like many farmers, we have to deal with drought, difficult access to land and a heavy workload, but what we love is working with living things, the beauty of seeing the plant express itself in its entire cycle, from seed to seed.
Our favorite was the Telegraph Cucumber. It's the pleasure, when it's hot and you're working in the garden, of picking a cucumber and biting into it like a fruit for water and freshness!"
A final word: "What we've done never goes away, nor does what we don't do." The Shadok motto!
