Absynthe - Artemisia
This aromatic and medicinal perennial species is on list A of the French pharmacopoeia. It has silvery-gray foliage and numerous small yellow flowers. The whole plant has a strong fragrance and is used in liquorice and phytotherapy.
In the garden, fermented wormwood extract is used as an insect repellent and fungicide.

Sow in trays under well-lit shelters. Cover seeds lightly and keep moist until emergence. Transplant first into pots where possible, then into the ground, 40 cm apart in all directions.
Short pruning in spring regenerates clumps, which last 3 to 4 years. This species has antagonistic effects on many plants and vegetables.
