This old-fashioned variety has a low, compact habit and produces cubic green fruits that turn bright red when ripe. Their thick flesh offers a fruity flavor. Staking is recommended due to the weight of the fruit.

Sow in pots or in trays, at a temperature of between 20 and 25°C, under a well-lit shelter, 8 to 10 weeks before planting. Transplant the whole clump into the ground, after the last frosts, at a distance of 30 or 60 cm in all directions, depending on the variety, burying the stem up to the first leaves. This old variety originated in the United States and was developed by the Burpee seed company in 1900. It was twice the size of the largest bell pepper at the time. This heirloom was truly remarkable for its size at the time, and its popularity continues to this day. It is also known as the "Giant Worldbeater".
