Edmonson - Cucumber
This very old variety, which originated in Kansas at the beginning of the last century, produces white-green cucumbers measuring around 15 cm in length. This variety is highly resistant to disease, drought and insects.

in bucket, in the ground
Sow in pots at a temperature of between 18 and 20°C, 6 weeks before planting. Transplant with the root ball, after the last frosts, in planting holes enriched with compost, spaced 1 m apart in all directions. Sowing in the open ground is possible under the same conditions when the soil is well warmed and outside temperatures no longer fall below 15°C.
Cucumbers like warm, rich soil. Mulching after planting retains water and protects from the cold. In dry regions, let the stems run along the ground; in wetter regions, trellis them. Regular watering will avoid accentuating the bitterness of the fruit.

This ancient variety was introduced by the Seed Savers Exchange in 1982. It was passed on by Clarice Cooper from Kansas, whose family has been growing it since 1913.
