Both pharmacological studies and the ancestral practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine have highlighted the fact that Chinese Sage, Salvia miltiorrhiza - one of the major plants in this pharmacopoeia - possesses a wide range of medicinal properties: cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, neuroprotective, antioxidant, anti-fibrotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-neoplastic, and so on. Today, this medicinal species, called Danshen, is particularly welcome for treating all coronaviruses, influenza and other SARS - in particular, for reducing HMGB1 levels during cytokine cascades.
