Useful companion plants - Green manure mix
Ideal for intercropping, this mixture of 19 species offers exceptional diversity. Sown between the rows of main crops, it offers a host of benefits: reducing soil erosion, maintaining or increasing organic matter levels, fixing atmospheric nitrogen in the soil, etc.
It contains : faba bean, blue lupin, soybean, chickling vetch, common vetch, Alexandria clover, red clover, bank clover, lupulin alfalfa, forage rape, camelina, sunflower, linseed, rough oats, spring rye, ryegrass, timothy, tall fescue and meadow fescue.
Carefully prepare the area to be sown so that the soil is loose and finely crumbled on the surface. This will ensure more even emergence of the various seeds. Sow light seeds directly in place, broadcasting at a rate of 4 g per square metre. Rake to bury the seeds and press down with a board or the back of a rake. Keep the soil moist until the seeds emerge.
