Yokohama - Moschata squash
This magnificent old variety produces beautiful, flattened, strongly ribbed fruits weighing 3 to 4 kg, blue-gray in color, turning ochre when ripe. Their dry flesh has a fine texture and sweet flavor.

Sow in pots at a temperature of between 18 and 20°C, 2 to 3 weeks before planting. Transplant, with the root ball, into the ground, after the last frosts, at a distance of at least 2 m in all directions. For sowing directly into the ground, sow after the last frosts, once the soil has warmed up. It was introduced to the United States by James Hogg, of Yorkville, from seeds sent by his brother Thomas Hogg from Japan. It is described in Vilmorin-Andrieux's 1891 book "Les Plantes Potagères".
