Sow lightly, directly in place, covering the seeds lightly and keeping the seedlings moist. Thin out when the plants have 2 to 4 leaves. You can also sow in pots, taking care of the taproot, which is sensitive to transplanting. Transplant after the last frosts, when plants reach the 4 to 5-leaf stage.
Dill needs light and warmth, but fears heatwaves, which will cause it to go to seed too early. Plant in well-drained soil, not too damp and sheltered from the wind. Keep the soil cool for the first few weeks after planting.

This old variety originated in Poland and was introduced by the Peace Seeds in Corvallis, Oregon. There is a similar variety from the Ukraine or Russia called "Ambrojia".
The Peace Seeds
Dill, whose leaves and seeds are consumed, has carminative, diuretic and antispasmodic properties. It also calms the nervous system and has a beneficial effect on milk secretion.
