Sow directly in place, 2 to 3 cm deep, every 3 cm, or in stacks of 3 to 5 seeds spaced 20 cm apart, in rows 60 cm apart. Plant out 3 weeks after emergence. In mild climates, sow from October to February.
For staking, place reams about 2 m apart before the beans emit their long, voluble stems.
