Sol Vivant special - Green manure mix
This particularly versatile mixture offers numerous benefits to both crops and soils. Used as an undersowing, it protects and stimulates the main crop, inhibits weed growth, attracts beneficial insects and promotes humus formation.
It consists of 2 varieties of ryegrass, timothy, white and red clover, camelina, phacelia and coriander.
The cereals provide energy for the soil's microorganisms, while the fabaceae provide organic nitrogen via their roots.
With both shallow and deep root systems, this mix is suitable for dry areas or areas with fluctuating humidity.
Carefully prepare the area to be sown so that the soil is loose and finely crumbled on the surface. This will ensure more even emergence of the various seeds. Sow light seeds directly in place, broadcasting at a rate of 1.5 g per square metre. Rake to lightly bury the seeds and press down with a board or the back of a rake. Keep the soil moist until the seeds emerge.
