"The Retired Gardener
This ancient variety has been cultivated since the 16th century. It was mentioned in Loudens' book "The Retired Gardener" in 1707. It is also described in Vilmorin-Andrieux's "Les Plantes Potagères".
Radish is a root vegetable packed with minerals and trace elements such as potassium and calcium. It is also rich in sulfur, which gives it its pungent flavor and, above all, stimulates appetite and digestion. It also has the advantage of high vitamin C content, preserved by consumption without cooking. As a raw vegetable, this little root provides maximum fiber. Finally, its tops are an excellent source of provitamin A, an antioxidant, as well as vitamin C and iron.
