Sow in pots. After the last frosts and when the plants have 5 to 6 leaves, transplant with the root ball at 30 cm intervals. For direct sowing, sow in rows 40 cm apart. When plants have 5 or 6 leaves, thin out to 30 cm, keeping the most vigorous. Overgrown plants can be transplanted.

Chard is sensitive to drought, so water regularly and mulch to limit evaporation. Harvesting can be done gradually until the frosts, as long as you keep the heart of the plant, which will generate new leaves.
